How this started

Chase Whitfield spent more than a decade working construction and hauling across the western edge of metro Atlanta before buying a single truck and one container in 2015. The reason was straightforward: he had spent years waiting on containers that turned up late, turned up in the wrong size, or turned up with a price that changed once the load crossed a scale - and watching out-of-county haulers pass the landfill's out-of-county fees straight on to Paulding customers.

Eleven years on we run a fleet across Dallas, Paulding County and the surrounding metro edge, and the operating principle has not moved. Tell people the truth about what they need, protect the property, and charge the number that was quoted.

What we actually do differently

We are local, and it lowers your cost. The Paulding County Landfill is here in Dallas, and it charges out-of-county haulers a higher minimum plus $75 a ton and will not take them on Saturdays. As a Paulding operator we dispose at the in-county rate, so our cost base on a local job is genuinely lower than a hauler coming in from Cobb or Douglas County - and that shows up in the price.

We recommend smaller containers. This one surprises people. Dense material - tile, mortar, the heavy red Georgia clay - reaches a container's tonnage allowance while it still looks half empty. Recommending the 15 yard instead of the 20, or a dedicated 10 for the clay, costs us revenue and saves the customer money. We do it anyway.

We protect the driveway. We plank under the rollers and rails on every delivery so the container sits level and the weight is spread, at no charge and without being asked. On the newer subdivisions' decorative concrete, that care matters.

One number. The flat rate covers delivery, seven days, collection, disposal at the in-county rate and a stated tonnage allowance, with the overage rate quoted in the same breath. No fuel surcharge, no environmental fee appearing on an invoice for the first time.

Why local knowledge matters here

Paulding is one of the fastest-growing counties in metro Atlanta, which means the work splits two ways. New construction and newer-home remodels produce bulky, light debris that wants a larger container. Renovation of older homes around downtown Dallas and the rural county gives up dense material that wants a smaller one. And nearly every job that moves earth produces the heavy red clay that needs its own box.

Then there is the landfill and the city. Disposing in-county keeps costs down; the city will not collect construction or bulky waste so the container fills that gap; and clean yard waste and hazardous items have their own county routes. A company that works Paulding every day knows all of it. We quote each job on what it actually is, and we will explain the difference if you want to hear it.

• Chase Whitfield — Founder & Owner. More than a decade in local construction and hauling before starting the company. Still takes sizing calls, particularly on anything involving concrete, clay or a tricky access.
• Brooke Sanderson — Operations Manager. Runs the schedule, the swaps and the contractor accounts, and knows which county roads a loaded truck can and cannot manage. If you need a same-day swap, she is the one who makes it happen.
• Dylan Roper — Lead Driver. Has been placing containers on Paulding driveways for years and sizes a load by eye better than most. If he says a 30 will not fit your lot, it will not fit.
• Kayla Mize — Customer Care Lead. First voice on the phone most mornings, and the person who will walk you through what can and cannot go in the container.
